COVID continues to provide significant challenges for the community,  however we are committed to providing as normal an experience as possible for our students as we commence the 2022 school year. We are pleased to announce that the ACC program of events will commence as planned from Wednesday February 2nd, with all schools committed to delivering a COVID safe experience for all involved in ACC sport and events. Some important points to note:

• All of the usual COVID safe practices and protocols will be in place for ACC sport and events, including face masks indoors (unless participating in sport) and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible, implementing physical distancing protocols and utilising good hygiene with regular hand washing and use of  hand sanitiser. Host schools will also need to ensure effective cleaning protocols are adhered to.
• All staff and students involved in ACC sport and events must undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT) in the 48 hours prior to the event commencing and return a negative result. The RAT’s will be distributed and coordinated through your school. Issues around RAT supply for senior students competing in ACC Sport should be communicated to the ACC office in advance.
• If you are unwell or displaying any COVID symptoms, you MUST stay home and test yourself and not attend school or any ACC activity.
• Attendance at all ACC sport and events should be restricted  to the minimum number of participants required. ie coaching staff, players and supporting personnel as required. 

For Term 1 weekly sport (senior cricket, tennis and volleyball), the following details will be applicable:

• In the case of a school not being able to field a team in a particular competition in any given week due to COVID, the Director of Sport must communicate with their opposing school at the earliest possible time to confirm their non-participation. The Director of Sport must also inform the ACC office. Whilst it is an expectation that schools will try to ensure team participation by encouraging other students to be involved, it is understood that this may not always be possible due to late notice and sport specific skill requirements.
• Where a school is unable to field a team in a particular match due to COVID related student absence, that match will be considered drawn and the match points allocated equally between both schools.
• In the case of COVID related staff absence, schools are encouraged to do everything possible to replace that staff member in order for the match to proceed. If it is not possible for staff to be replaced, then the match will be abandoned and considered a draw.

The term ahead will no doubt be a very challenging one for all of our schools. Please do your best to support our school leaders and follow all of the necessary health guidelines in place so that we can maximise participation for our students. Updates will be made available as they are received from the Education Department and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria.
