ACC Set To Expand

WELCOME TO ST JOSEPH’S COLLEGE FERNTREE GULLY

A wonderful announcement this week, with confirmation that St Joseph’s College Ferntree Gully will be joining the ACC as a member school from 2017. After a period of discussion within their College community and consultation with the ACC, the Leadership Team from St Joseph’s made the decision to apply for membership. In a strong show of support, the Principals of the ACC member schools voted unanimously to accept the application, with St Joseph’s set to become our 12th member from 2017.

St Joseph’s has been a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM, but formerly called EIS) since 1966, and as such it was a significant decision to make the move to a new association. Interestingly, three of the current ACC member schools were involved with the EIS during the late 1960’s, with Whitefriars College one of the inaugural members in 1964,  Salesian College Chadstone joining in 1966 and Mazenod College in 1968. In 1999, all three of these schools moved from the EIS to the ACC, helping to expand the sporting and cultural programs that we are so proud of today.

St Joseph’s is a perfect fit for the ACC, with a strong focus on competitive sport and the development of well rounded students through artistic, cultural and leadership programs. All involved with the Association are genuinely excited with the opportunities that the membership of St Joseph’s will provide. We warmly welcome their school to our community and look forward to working with them for a smooth transition to the ACC in 2017.
