What an incredible success this year’s Art & Technology Exhibition has been! Positive feedback from the schools and visitors to the exhibition, high quality student works and a wonderful celebration of The Arts within our Association.
The exhibition was open across 5 days (Wednesday through Sunday), with around 3,500 visitors to Deakin Edge and numerous more through The Atrium. One of the great attractions for the visitors was the music in Deakin Edge, with performances from a variety of school ensembles and soloists.
ACC videographer, Curtis Reeder, captured the event superbly – click on the youtube link below to view the Event Launch highlights.

There were over 300 attendees at the Event Launch in Deakin Edge, with guest speaker, Tom Goldner, delivering an entertaining and informative presentation of his journey into professional photography and his work in various locations around the world. Tom has been working closely with the ACC for over a decade and has captured almost every event that the ACC has to offer. Further information about Tom can be found on his website: http://www.thefoxdarkroom.com.au
It is important to acknowledge the fantastic contribution of many people that helped make this event so successful. Our curator, Maria Tallarida, has overseen all three of our exhibitions now and continues to bring all of the student items together superbly. Her expertise and dedication to task ensures that the work is presented very professionally.
The Arts Committee has worked diligently over the past 18 months, collaborating on the various planning tasks required of an event of this size and scope. Our thanks to the following:
Sara Valentino – CBC St Kilda
Ryan Hayward – De La Salle College
Sophia Wolan – Emmanuel College
Michael Keady – Mazenod College
Tim Jacobs & Tony Teo – Parade College
Roslyn Aylward – Salesian College
Peter Dingli – Simonds Catholic College
Rob Withers – St Bede’s College
Eddie Stojkovich – St Bernard’s College
Siobhan Duffy – St Joseph’s College Ferntree Gully
Leanne Adams – St Joseph’s College Geelong
Claire Benne – Whitefriars College
We had some key support provided by a number of people: Leanne Adams did a sensational job designing the exhibition program; Siobhan Duffy prepared all of the exhibition labels; St Bede’s College allowed us to utilise their event display system.
Our event supervisors and support staff also provided wonderful assistance: Rosie Welsford, Danny McKenna, Jen McKenna, Tim Johnson and Aidan Mills. The Fed Square staff were also incredibly supportive and helped add a level of professionalism to the event.
Overall, a job well done and a positive experience for all concerned. The “People’s Choice Award” winner will be announced in the coming days. Our next Art & Technology exhibition will be held in 2019 – most likely back at Fed Square!
