What a day of ACC Sport! With some hot action on track and some sensational field event performances, the 2018 Athletics Championship will prove to be a memorable experience for all involved. The warm day and the fantastic surrounds of Lakeside Stadium helped to create a wonderful atmosphere and the athletes looked resplendent in their school colours. There was a grand total of 617 athletes all performing to the best of their ability, with two of those attaining new ACC records. Congratulations to:

In a continuation of last year’s fantastic form, Parade College once again claimed the Division 1 Aggregate Award, the historic and much coveted “Old Collegians Shield”. Their final score of 381 placed them well ahead of their nearest rival in St Bede’s (265.5), whilst St Bernard’s improved to finish in third place on 260. Whitefriars finished fourth on 250.5, just nudging out De La Salle who finished half a point behind in 5th. Salesian finished in sixth place and will return to Division 2 in 2019.
After being relegated last year, St Joseph’s Geelong rebounded in style to finish first in Division 2, scoring 368.5, ahead of St Joseph’s Ferntree Gully (346) and Mazenod (294). Emmanuel moved up one place from last year to finish fourth on 246.4, with CBC (223) and Simonds (132) rounding out the placings.

This is the largest annual event that the ACC conducts and it requires a significant number of helpers to ensure that it runs efficiently. The ACC would like to acknowledge the many volunteers and officials that contributed so well to the success of the day – a great team effort all round!
