Last night, swimmers from nine of our member colleges were involved in the VSAC Swimming Championships. This event showcases the best talent from across all Associations around Victoria. The ACC Swimming Representative Team was in tremendous spirits heading into the event, with swimmers extremely excited to represent not only their College, but also their Association.
The schools involved included: De La Salle, Mazenod, Parade, Salesian, St Bede’s, St Bernard’s, St Joseph’s Geelong, St Mary’s and Whitefriars. Swimmers ranged from year 7 through to year 12. This event is always fantastic to have students meet other students within the Association, but also to help build friendships.
Led by team captains R.Hayashi (De La Salle) & M.De Thomasis (Parade), the ACC placed 4th Overall in the Boys competition and had a few great placings along the way on the night.
Our placed results were:
– 1st – Boys 16 & Over 50 Butterfly – R.Hayashi (De La Salle) – First 1st placed finish for the ACC in VSAC
– 2nd – 4x50m Freestyle Relay – M.De Thomasis (Parade), R.Hayashi (De La Salle), X.Purcell (St Bernard’s) & H.Charlesworth (St Mary’s)
– 3rd – Boys 16 & Over 4×50 Medley Relay – X.Purcell (St Bernard’s), A.Tan (Salesian), R.Hayashi (De La Salle) & H.Charlesworth (St Mary’s)
– 2nd – Boys 16 & Over 4x50m Freestyle Relay – R.Hayashi (De La Salle), M.De Thomasis (Parade), X.Purcell (S Bernard’s) & H.Charlesworth (St Mary’s)
Thank you to all the staff, students and families that were involved to help make this a fantastic and successful event.
