Weideman To Debut
Former Whitefriars College student, Sam Weideman, is set to debut in his first AFL match this weekend for Melbourne Football Club, when they take on Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday. Sam had a huge impact on sport at Whitefriars, dominating the football field from his early days in Year 7, right through to his outstanding performances at senior level. His contested marking ability, along with his exceptional goal kicking, provided a focal point up forward. His skill and commitment in ACC Sport saw him recognised with selection in the ACC Football “Team of the Year” in 2015.
Whitefriars College is very proud to have Sam debut for the Dees, joining Christian Petracca, another Whitefriars Old Boy, who also debuted for Melbourne earlier in the season. All involved with with ACC Sport wish Sam well for a fantastic debut and a successful career ahead.
